VAL THORENS DIARY

Val Thorens was the best skiing trip yet and definitely a ski resort I would recommend because of the numerous activities available and the great night life. My sister, myself and our boyfriends headed to France for a week and we stayed in the perfect apartment looking over the valley called Les Balcons Platinum. This was the perfect ski on/off location with a  short walk to the centre of Val T. It had a log fire reception, a spa and pool. The necessities after a long day of skiing!

BLUE SKIES & SNOW

Blue skies and white powered slopes on day 1 - if only the perfect conditions had lasted all week. We totally took this day for granted  as the next FOUR DAYS consisted of nonstop snow! The silver lining was that this made for perfect skiing conditions, waking up to fresh snow every morning. Luckily on our last day the sun reappeared making this the perfect end to the trip.

I can't explain how incredibly beautiful being in the Alps is. Every morning I woke up, I was still blown away by the views. If you haven't been on a skiing holiday before add it to you're bucket list now! Val Thorens is known to have the best slopes as it is the highest valley. We skied every day from early until late, exploring the three valleys and snow parks. Don't worry if you can't ski, you can go to ski school or enjoy loads of other activities in the mountains such as sledging, tobogganing, iceskating, a cinema and bowling. Not to forget, the many bars, restaurants and clubs!

FRENCH FOOD

So the skiing was good, but the food was even better. It's safe to say I indulged all week because it was hard not to! My favourite lunch location was La Fruitere which was situated at the top of the mountain. As you can see this restaurant offered authentic French cuisine alongside beautiful rustic interior.

The restaurant was next to the most amazing aprés ski club La Folie Douce. If you follow my snapchat you will have witnessed the madness here! It was so much fun until we had to ski down the mountain after a couple of drinks which was harder than it looked!

A few other favourite food places were La Maison which is located in the centre which again, had such a unique interior... fur chandlers is all I have to say. Another was L'Auberge des Balcons which was directly across from our apartment (so handy). Here, we tried cheese fondue for the first time which was amazinggg!

However, now the holiday is over and done, it's time to detox for summer now!

SKI STYLE

Alana's braids, so cute!

These are some of the places I would recommend visiting if you ever head to Val Thorens. My next fashion post will detail  my chic ski attire and aprés ski style with links included. I think this will definitely be my annual ski trip destination for the foreseeable future as I had such a great time both on the slopes and off.
