When it comes to bikinis, I prefer quality to quantity! Above are just a few of my favourite bikini brands and styles this year. I love to purchase bikinis from niche online boutiques or Australian brands  (usually found on Instagram) for unique cuts, styles and exotic prints. As much as I love ruffles and prints, simple bikinis in block colours are essential.  The brands above (from left to right) are Bamba Swim, Sommer Swim, Zulu & Zephyr, Zimmermann, For Love & Lemons, Burrows & Co and Somedays Lovin. Some are pricier than others but I totally believe you pay for what you get! It's so important to feel comfortable and confident in swimwear - after all it's the least amount of clothing you wear in public. It all comes down to knowing your own body and which styles suit you best. For me, I suit triangle cups with straps sitting on the shoulders opposed to bandeau shapes. I also prefer no padding/ thin padding over push up - I often remove the padding from bikinis when I buy them! The same rules apply for bottoms - I suit thin or tie side straps compared to thick straps or short styles.  As I said before, it's different for everyone and luckily brands usually create several different bikini shapes in the same prints or fabric, catering to everyone.

Although I love these swimwear brands and if I could, I would buy almost every bikini on their websites (not even kidding), I still love to shop high street styles from Zara, H&M, Topshop and Cos! Check out a few of my favourite styles:

Zara Ruffle Strap Bikini

H&M Floral Ruffle Bikini

H&M Tropical Bikini

Topshop Print Bikini

Cos Triangle Bikini

Time to get bikini buying, beach babes!

As part of AllSaints' recent campaign #Farfromhere, I was gifted the Deirdre Ruffle Shirt to style and shoot in my special place. The campaign is all about a local location where you go to breath or gain inspiration, so as a city girl what better way to get out of the fast pace city life than to get on top of it! This roof top looks over Glasgow and on the odd sunny days (like today) it's sooo beautiful up here and especially at sunset! Sometimes I take living in Glasgow for granted and I don't see it's true beauty. The views up here remind me and give me the inspiration to embrace things as they are, the natural beauty!

This time of year always gets me excited for whats yet to come...summer! Brighter mornings and light nights transforms my mood and my wardrobe. I've already started wearing lighter colours like this AllSaints shirt dress but I'm not quite ready to give up my biker boots! I feel like boots have become an all year round item, well in the UK anyway. I love dress + boot combo, it makes an outfit look instantly less "try hard". As the shirt is sheer, I wore a nude slip underneath but I can't wait to trade in my slip for bikinis on the beach. It's so versatile - just long enough to wear as a dress and short enough to wear as a top with jeans or leather trousers.

AllSaints SS17 collection has loads of cute pastel tones, lace dresses (perfect for weddings), floral prints and embroidered denim! There are so many pieces I love just as much as this shirt that I want to share with you guys. My favourites are the Tassel Balfern Leather JacketAisla Laced Tee, Philly Embroidered Denim Jacket, Tonya Stitch Dress and Alia Silk Dress. Check them out!

One last trip into the city before heading back to Glasgow, back to reality. So of course the day started with brunch, at Au Fudge one of the most picturesque restaurants (especially the food!) in LA. We treated ourselves to desert which was to DIE FOR...Banana, Nutella birthday cake who could resist that?! Au Fudge is on Melrose Ave so it was the perfect location for us to walk to the designer stores on the sunniest day yet.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted glasses but of course I have almost perfect vision, I shouldn’t be complaining but you always want what you can’t have. Well in this case I decided to just go for these glasses from ASOS, why not?! I totally love this style and especially after seeing so many inspo pictures on Pinterest of girls rocking the geek chic style.  (Check out my Pinterest here)

I'm still obsessed with embellished pieces, nothing new there! I wore this old season All Saints embellished skirt which is so dreamyyyy. The detail is incredible and how it sparkles in the sun is so amazing. I won't rant on again about how All Saints NEED to do embellished pieces again, but if you missed it check it out in this post here

Our last night was spent at a beach bonfire on Huntington Beach with all our friends to watch sunset and say goodbye! Until August Lalaland!

Gloomy days are still so pretty here in Cali and especially by the beach. Venice has a rep for being quirky and that's what I love about it. Abott Kinney (the main street in Venice) reminds me a bit of Melrose Avenue with street art on every corner and an overall effortlessly cool atmosphere.  There are loads of cool boutiques and home ware stores as well as restaurants and bars like Zinqué. I went to the Zinqué in LA in December with the girls and loved it so we had to go again in Venice! The food is so fresh and tasty (the burger is a must...when in America right!)

I kept it super simple in a body with jeans and a leather jacket. This bodysuit is one of my favourite buys - I love the square cut and the fabric is ! I've seen loads of models wearing this style too like Emily Ratajkowski, Rosie Huntington Whitely and Hailey Baldwin - you know, all the babes of the world! Naked Wardrobe is known for their bodysuits and being worn by the Kardashian's. There are so many simple styles with amazing cuts at an affordable price and good quality - win, win! Some of my favourite styles from their collection are U Really Suit Me Bodysuit (the same square style in white, perfect for SS17), Beyond the Basic Bodysuit and The NW Bodysuit SS
